community is everything

& it’s all more fun with friends

Could you learn to DJ in your bedroom and hang out there forever? Sure. We’re here for something different.

The PhDJ leadership team is about bringing you an experiential, full-spectrum and multi-disciplinary experience that transforms how you show up in the world and on the decks.

This isn’t just a class. It’s a collective.

Your Coaches

The PhDJ leadership team will give you + your intimate work group all the extra ass kicks and inspiration you need throughout the program.

Our lead coaches are MVP PhDJ graduates ready to usher you into the next era of your artistry, creation and expression. In addition to the teaching and support you’ll receive from Tasha and guest teachers on live calls and our online platform, your coach will be there for you throughout the week and track you throughout the program.

Our behind-the-scenes logistics queen Yuri will also have her eyes and ears on everyone as you make your way through our initiation of sound and spirit.

“Before I joined PhD, I had never considered DJing and now that I look back on it, that's kind of silly because I've been obsessed with music my whole life.

I listen to music in a totally new way now. I've become more confident since starting this training. Definitely more confident in the authentic expression of myself. I'm learning new things about my body and the way that I like to move. I'm learning different ways to move. I feel so supported and encouraged in this space, and I love getting to face my fears in the company of all these fine humans in this cohort.

If you're thinking about joining PhDJ and something in you is, is kind of either gently or aggressively pushing you towards this, my advice is lean the f**k in.”

what our grads are up to

  • MICHAEL V

Celebrated his first year of PRIMAL DISCO and sold out … again. Here are the tunes (Michael that first track is perfect!!!) He also launched a new offering called Medicine Disco, the latest mix from that is an hour of the kind of guided somatic movement I want to do every day.

  • LEXX

Celebrated her first year of SOFT BUTCH BRISTOL and sold out …. again. Here’s the mix from 9/14, which (as she does) breaks the genre-time barrier. She also launched a new more somatically-oriented queer led offering and DJ’d all over the UK this year.

  • SHOSHI

Graced the stage at BOOM festival in Portugal right before serving as the resident DJ on Michael Franti’s SoulShine Cruise. Trying not to be jealous over here. Here’s the mix from BOOM! Read the comments — basically everyone’s favorite set/moment of one of the worlds most legendary festivals. So proud of you, love.

  • JUSTINE

Recently ran two 5-week therapeutic dance groups for people with OCD and trauma at the hospital where she’s a resident psychiatrist. She also created the first ever Ecstatic Dance in Coburg, Canada. Here’s the mix from that night (stunning, sensitive, joyful, powerful, magnetic!!)

  • JESS HERE

Just sold out her first Dancing Waves experience and here’s what they said … “Those amazing transitions ... the fusion was just spectacular. I was screaming deep inside” // “You confirmed that music truly is a universal language” // “The breath work and movement ignited a fire inside that helped me let loose” // “More of Jess please!” Here’s a recent hawwwwwt mix from her closing set at Primal Disco.

  • VIC

Just moved to Pittsburgh and is getting ready to launch a new dance series this spring. This most recent mix is such a beautiful and nuanced journey, I love hearing you evolve!!

  • ALIZA

Just graduated 10 women from the second cohort of her movement school, and the next round is open for enrollment!. She’s also hosted a women’s retreat in Costa Rica this February. She’s been revolutionizing the ecstatic dance scene all over Costa Rica, and got to tour the states this fall. This mix from PDX E Dance (Peace Prayer) is magnificent.

  • BACKBACK JESUS

Has launched an underground phenomenon in Montreal. There are no links to share because his marketing strategy is zero pictures or public promo which is somehow completely working. What kind of DJ do you have to be to start a purely word of mouth revoution? This kind.

  • GLEN

Has quickly become a resident opening DJ at the biggest gay club in DC (Bunker) and is opening for a New Year’s Eve event called Recovery Rave. His mobile silent disco event THE JOURNEY which moves through downtown Washington DC was featured on NBC! Here’s the mix from their inaugural dance (get ready for Glen’s signature high energy ear candy!)

  • CLAY PAPA

Didn’t reply to my ask for updates cuz she's on a social media sabbatical but this mix is so delicious I had to dig it up and share it anyway.

  • ATARA

Recently hosted Dance for Peace in Brooklyn … and y’all must watch one of the best reactions to a set I’ve ever seen (also, the comments). What’s that all about?? Witness Mixtress Atara, serving everything from Epic Fxing Dance Parties to deep titrated nervous system loving flowtimes.

2.0 Grad Dan aka Backpack Jesus

“It’s been wonderful, challenging, a joy. It’s much more than a DJ school, it’s become the vessel through which to change my life.

To be a part of this cohort and witness the teachings is to experience the "Teacher" Manifesting — true purpose returning me to the light. I’m forever grateful for the changes I’m undergoing and the freedoms I feel the permission to know.”
